East Union welcomes new Special Education teacher

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Kaitlyn Hoover to Deer Lakes School District!
"I am excited to join Deer Lakes because, as a member of the community, I want to give back and make a positive impact on the students around me," Mrs. Hoover said. "Having my daughter attend Deer Lakes makes this opportunity even more meaningful, as I would be proud to contribute to the school community that plays such an important role in her education."
Mrs. Hoover attended North Allegheny High School and Westminster College. She has been a Special Education teacher for 11 years and will continue to be a Special Education teacher at East Union.
"I teach because I have always wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of students," Mrs. Hoover said. "I love being able to build relationships with students, help them grow in confidence, and watch them learn and succeed. I especially enjoy this area of education because every student is unique, and I love finding ways to make learning fun, meaningful, and engaging for them. Teaching is rewarding because I get to be a part of their growth, not only academically but also as individuals."
Mrs. Hoover recalled playing school in the home she grew up, a passion only grew stronger because of the connection she felt with her fourth-grade teacher.
"I admired her so much that I still keep in touch with her today," Mrs. Hoover said. "She inspired me to see the impact a teacher can have on a student’s life and helped solidify my dream of becoming a teacher."
