Holocaust speaker presents to 5th grade students

Our East Union fifth graders had a truly meaningful learning experience this past week as they had the opportunity to hear from the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, who shared her father’s powerful story of bravery and compassion.
The speaker’s message encouraged students to stand up for others and choose kindness over being a bystander when something isn’t right. The presentation was especially impactful as a culminating connection to the novel ‘Number the Stars’ by Lois Lowry.
We encourage families to ask their child about this special presentation—our students asked thoughtful questions and showed incredible respect throughout.
Special thanks to Mrs. Kozlowski for connecting us with Teen Screen and The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh.
