Mrs. VanderSchaaff is one of Deer Lakes' two 2026 Pittsburgh Penguins MVP (Most Valuable Principal) Award Recipients!

This honor is awarded to only 15 school leaders across Allegheny County by the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Grable Foundation, and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Deer Lakes is the only District with two MVPs this year!

This recognition celebrates a commitment to excellence in education, fostering a positive school culture, and dedication to student success. The honor includes recognition at a Penguins game this spring, a customized jersey, and a $1,000 donation to the school.
